This is an exciting time for us here at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We are the largest health organisation in Wales and, as a fully integrated organisation, provide a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of almost 700,000 people across six counties of North Wales (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham), as well as some services to parts of mid Wales. We serve a bi-lingual population and are committed to improving their health and well-being through everything we do.
The Health Board employs around 16,000 staff and has a budget of around £11 billion and is responsible for the operation of three district general hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd near Rhyl, and Ysbyty Maelor in Wrexham) as well as 22 other acute and community hospitals, and a network of over 90 health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units. It also coordinates the work of 121 GP practices and NHS services provided by North Wales dentists, opticians and pharmacies.
We are undergoing a significant phase of transformation, review and renewal that will position us to achieve our future ambitions as the leading integrated care organisation in Wales. Central to this journey will be the contribution of our workforce who with strong team working skills, will be able to demonstrate the values that are important to us, communicating well with both colleagues and patients, who have the vision and ability to help move our services forward whilst getting the best of each other, treating others with respect and dignity and never compromising on quality.
Work where you want to live, North Wales has something for everyone!
