Our vacancy

We are looking for An Experienced Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist to join the team in our Surrey Wheelchair Services to be involved in:

  • Providing complex mobility and postural assessments to clients in Surrey in clinic settings and community locations with the delivery of high quality, individualised, evidenced based care to all patients
  • Prescribing products that assist clients with mobility, pressure and postural difficulties
  • A varied and changeable schedule of work both in hospital settings and community locations
  • A range of different situations – always demonstrating a sensitive and diplomatic approach
  • Working with a range of qualified and unqualified staff including Therapists, Engineers, Product Advisors, Technician instructors and Administration staff
  • Managing a locality base within the Surrey Services
  • Development of our service for the future in the changing NHS


For our Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist positions we require you to have:

  • Registered Occupational or Physiotherapist qualification
  • Interest in mobility, pressure and postural management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise caseload
  • Desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment and work collaboratively with acute and community services.
  • Motivation to develop and extend professional knowledge / expertise
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly, without direct supervision
  • Current full driving licence
  • Efficient IT skills

The place

Surrey Wheelchair Services are led by a clinical services manager and cover a semi-rural setting providing services in both East and West Surrey. Service locations are East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, Woking Community Hospital, Jarvis Centre in Guildford and Farnham Hospital. Our main hub is at Woking Hospital. Our staff spend a varied day in these locations and in the local community. Surrey has a variety of populations and cultures both urban and rural. Ideally you will have access to your own car but service vans are available . The Surrey team work across the four localities and consist of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Technical Instructors and administration staff.
