Band 5 Children’s Nurse - Accident & Emergency Department

We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 – Children’s Nurse within our A&E department. You will need to have experience within a Children’s Nursing role and be registered as a Children’s Nurse with the NMC. Dual qualified candidates would also be welcome to apply.


The Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department at Warwick Hospital is a busy department with a yearly attendance of over 64,000 patients, offering a wide range of clinical experience including paediatrics. Our commitment to patient care was reflected in the 2014 A&E National Patient Survey, when our department was voted in the top 10 in the country. Commitment to staff support and development is reflected in the 2015 NHS Staff Survey, when our Trust was voted in the top 6 nationally

To be successful within this role you will be an enthusiastic, motivated nurse and possess excellent communication, listening, organisational and time management skills. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of the team and be adaptable to the changing situations that occur within a busy A&E Department. You will have a mature, compassionate and sensitive manner with a genuine desire and passion to help people. You must have the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy with good practical skills inspiring confidence and trust to all patients. All our nurses need to apply a non-judgmental attitude to care and have a clear understanding of confidentiality. It is essential you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

We are able to offer a full post with shift patterns covering the 24 hour period and the successful applicants will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality care and carrying out a wide range of duties.
