The Surgical Clincial Academic Group comprises of 55 Theatre Suites spread across 5 sites which are the Royal London Hospital, St Bartholmews Hospital , The London Chest Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham University Hospital.

The Theatre case mix is challenging and specialties include: Upper and Lower GI, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial , Head and Neck, ENT, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics, Day Surgery and Paediatrics.

We are currently building 2 new theatres on site and there are plans to build a further 2 next year

The Theatre teams are passionate about getting it right for patients and their families and in order to achieve this we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individuals. Once appointed we will build upon your Postgraduate Anaesthetic Course and support you in your new role.

We recognise that you will be wanting to progress your career and in order to prepare for a Senior Anaesthetic Role we will provide you with a bespoke training and education package that will broaden and “add value” to your clincial experience and facilitate you to develop “cutting edge” leadership skills.

The development programme will be delivered over an 18 month period, during which you will be allocated a senior mentor. There are opportunities to attend the Perioperative “Leading for the Future” Programme which is a practical leadership course delivered via a series of practical training days. We will also aim to support you to undertake an Advanced Life Support Course.

Successful candidates will be supported by the friendly professional development team and team Band 7/ 6. You will also receive a 2 week supernumerary period.
