Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) is one of the largest acute hospital Trusts in the country, serving a diverse population of 12 million across Birmingham East and North, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and South Staffordshire. Comprising three acute hospital sites (Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull), a range of community services and Birmingham Chest Clinic; the Trust also runs a number of smaller ‘satellite’ units ensuring patients can be treated closer to home.
Due to expansion of Endoscopy services on the Solihull Hospital site, we are looking for Band 5 nurses to complement our existing nursing team. Posts available are both full and part time, to be worked over four days although we are seeking to develop a 7 day service in future.
Solihull Endoscopy Unit is currently a one roomed unit dealing with predominantly outpatient procedures but is due to open a second room later this year. Endoscopy services are part of the Gastroenterology Directorate, which provide both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients suffering with Gastrointestinal diseases. The unit also offer Bowel Cancer Screening Services and diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures.
We require enthusiastic, motivated nurses who are able to work as team members and also autonomously. You will be expected to work in all areas of Endoscopy and participate in the on call rota once trained. In return we are able to offer successful applicants the opportunity to advance their skills, with a comprehensive training package. Annual academic courses are offered to support knowledge base on a qualifying basis, and visits to conferences and external study days, run at different Trusts.
Cross site working is required on occasions and also covering out of hours GI Bleed on call service, following training.
Although, ideally suited to trained nurses with post registration experience wanting to broaden their skills and knowledge of diagnostics in Gastroenterology, newly qualified are also welcome to apply. Want to be a part of this exciting future with great career opportunities?
