Looking for a Band 5 RGN with a special interest in Sepsis management!

We have an exciting opportunity in Acute Medicine at BHR Hospitals. We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Nurse to join our existing highly motivated team on the (Care of the Elderly/Gastro ward in KGH).

As this is a Band 5 position, we are willing to consider applications from newly qualified staff or those due to complete their training within the next 3 months.

Gentian ward is currently going through a process of change to ensure we meet the on-going needs of the patient we care for, this is an ideal opportunity for you to bring your experiences and visions to help us to deliver these changes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse with a passion for delivering high quality care in partnership with patients and their relatives. Ideally, you need a special interest in Sepsis management, and will be willing to undertake link nurse responsibility for this area of nursing care.

In addition to usual ward duties, you will be released from duty on a regular basis to attend Sepsis study days, meetings, and to complete ward based audits and training sessions for staff. You will have a good understanding of Sepsis 6 management, and will be keeping up to date with national and local initiatives to identify & treat sepsis
You will build strong links with the Sepsis clinical nurse specialist for the Trust, as well as with other members of the Sepsis forum. You will represent the ward at monthly Sepsis meetings, and assist us in meeting standards to improve care regarding Sepsis management.

Study time will be facilitated to support you in this role, driving up the standard of sepsis management on the unit.

You will be working with a dedicated team of staff, headed by a Sister who will provide you with training and mentorship, and who will support your development and career progression.

You will ensure that care you deliver on the unit is of high quality, in line with our guidelines, which will assist with facilitating the smooth flow of medical patients from the Emergency Department to Gentian ward.
