Band 6 Paediatric Sister - HDU

Job Description

Do you want to make a difference to our patients?

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) is a dynamic organisation and the Child Health Division is excited to announce that we are recruiting Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses to deliver Paediatric High Dependency Care Unit (HDU) to our children. This service aims to provide specialist care for children requiring more observation, intervention or monitoring than can be safely provided on the general wards: acting as a 'step up' from the wards.

We are looking for motivated and proactive individuals who have excellent communication skills and are committed to delivering high quality nursing care to their patients. If you have current experience as a Band 6 or Band 5 nurse in Critical Care or High Dependency Care Unit, and are interested in developing your career within this exciting environment then we would like to meet you.

Applications should be made online, however, queries regarding the application process or assistance with completion of the form (for applicants with a disability) can be made to, HR Recruitment Department, on  ( Phone number removed )  ext 2177. Further details regarding the post may be obtained by contacting the manager as per the contact details below.

All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust are subject to a probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the culture and working environment of the Trust.

For further details / informal visits contact:
Theresa Burog, email ( Email address removed )

Please note: -
All salaries are inclusive of standard allowances e.g. High Cost Area for staff on Agenda for Change contracts
All correspondence regarding this application will be by e-mail.
Any incomplete application forms will be rejected - please ensure that the references are from your most recent employer and one of these must be your direct Line Manager or Supervisor. Additionally, ensure that any gaps in your employment history are clearly indicated; for example 'Career Break from 01/01/09 to 01/03/09'.

In order to streamline recruitment with our Trust some of our vacancies may expire prior to the advertised closing date. This is in line with the Department of Health's policy.
With the exception of Medical & Dental posts, should your application be successfully shortlisted we are unable to assist with Travel Expenses or Accommodation.

We are an equal opportunity employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community and welcomes applications from people wishing to job-share, either with or without a partner. Applicants who consider themselves to have a disability (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) will be shortlisted for interview if they meet the essential criteria. We also operate strict screening procedures for posts with access to vulnerable adults and children.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

Applicants must have current UK professional registration. For further information please see applying from overseas.
