Job Description

Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the largest heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. We are a partnership of two specialist hospitals which are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success.

Are you looking to build on your nursing Band 5 experiences and develop your critical care skills as well as gain shift management experience?

Patients are admitted to the Transplant Unit with end stage heart and respiratory failure, for transplant assessment, following cardiothoracic transplantation or ventricular assist device insertion and for post transplant complications.

Our Transplant Unit includes a 10 bed HDU where patients receive a range of supportive measures including:

  • CPAP
  • Intermittent haemofiltration
  • Ventricular assist devices
  • Inotrope therapy
  • Intra aortic balloon pumping

About you

We are looking for motivated, caring nurses who will assist us in the continuous development of our Transplant services. New staff are given full support as they develop the specialist skills required in this stimulating and exciting setting.
