Senior Sister/ Nurse Sonographer

Newham University Hospital Gynaecology Services are looking for an enthusiastic and exceptional individual for the role of Senior Gynae Nurse and sonographer for the Early Pregnancy Unit (EPAU/EGAS) and Pregnancy Advisory Service (PAS) in a permanent position.

The ideal applicant would have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and attitude, with a commitment to improve the service.

Newly qualified Nurse Sonographers are welcome to apply if they have the prerequisite gynae experience. We actively encourage and support staff with expanding their knowledge base. As a teaching hospital we are able to provide extensive in-house training. Access to formal courses of education at local universities is also available to facilitate professional development.

Working within Gynae Services, the Ward Manager is a key member of the senior ward management team providing senior nursing leadership and involved with working in close collaboration with the Senior Nurse, other Ward Managers, the medical team, service manager and General Manager.

You will be part of a small friendly team who are respected and committed to providing a high standard of care. You will be an experienced and enthusiastic nurse leader who connects with staff at all levels. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the provision of high quality women centered care for every one of our patients. This is why you will be involved in the exciting new nurse-led scan clinics.

The post holder will have specific responsibility for providing high quality services with a focus on improving patient experience and outcome. They will assist with ensuring that professional standards and appropriate planning implementations, monitoring and review mechanisms are in place to develop high quality services with available resources.

Although this post involves predominantly weekday working, it may involve some internal rotation, and require the successful candidate to undertake shift work, including working at nights and weekends.
