This post is suitable for a new or developing band 7. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead the Medical OT service at University Hospital Lewisham.
We need an innovative and enthusiastic team player to maximise the potential of the service and direct the team in its development. The role includes supervising an OT team (qualified and assistants) covering specialisms including Acute Medicine, A&E, Respiratory, Cardiology and some Palliative Care.
Additionally the post holder will be responsible for facilitating a Well-being Clinic, working with patients in the survivorship stage of cancer, supporting them with re-engaging with life after illness.
As the team lead, you will also be responsible for supervision, training and development of the team, as well as contributing to departmental and Trust improvements. Service development and audit to evidence efficiency and efficacy are essential and as such experience in this field crucial.
Learning and personal development is encouraged and we have a well-established appraisal system and funding for relevant external and internal courses.
