We are looking for a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist with a background of working with older people who can bring excellent communication skills, clear decision making abilities, and are adept in identifying and managing clinical risk in this patient cohort.
Skills in effective liaison, multiagency team work, problem solving, and service development are essential, as well as a professional and personal interest in providing interventions which are responsive to the needs of the patients and the trust.
Beaconsfield East ward has 20 beds for inpatient rehabilitation, and provides holistic assessment and intervention for older people who often have complex functional, cognitive and social care needs. Our award winning care environment has been redesigned to maximise the functional abilities of older people, and to enhance the experiences of people with dementia. This includes a new multipurpose sensory activity room, a therapy assessment kitchen and new social area which is used for therapy led group activities.
This post will provide you with excellent opportunities to continue in your development as a skilled professional, using your existing clinical skills to good effect. Supervision and teaching of junior therapy and multidisciplinary colleagues, assistants and students will be part of your role.
You will have strong time management, delegation and organisation skills which will demonstrate your ability to lead and inspire others. Regular supervision and development opportunities are available to further enhance your skillset and promote your ongoing learning.
