Majors Nurse Practitioner - 8A

We are looking for Advanced Nurse practitioners to join our Emergency Department team. We currently have 2 ANP in post and have created 4 additional posts. The ANP work as part of the Middle Grade team, seeing a full range of adult and paediatric emergency conditions. Newham is a friendly place to work and we have an excellent reputation for support and training of our medical and nursing staff.

The role will include:

  1. Assessing emergency patients in majors, resus and paeds
  2. Being part of the Rapid Assessment Team, providing initial assessment for walk-in and ambulance patients
  3. Managing patients on both the adult and paediatric clinical decision units
  4. Attending consultant led ward rounds in majors and CDU
  5. Attending and contributing to the departmental teaching programme
  6. Supervising FY2 and medical students on the shop floor
  7. Consultant mentor and support in developing the RCEM ANP competencies

Opportunities to take on managerial roles and develop special areas of interest will be supported
