Bank A&E Registered Nurses Required (Flexible and long term opportunities available)

Trust: Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Locations covered: Basildon, Essex

Band 5 – pay rates - Day rate £1845

Night and Saturday rate £2229

Sunday and Bank Holiday rate £2614

The Role:

The role is for an enthusiastic and highly motived Band 5 Accident and Emergency Registered Nurse with Acute health experience to join the NHSP Bank, working for with Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Duties will include:

  • Assessing, intervening and stabilizing a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action

  • Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated, involving patients and users

  • Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities to support patient care pathways

  • Demonstrate technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient care management including; patient observations; equipment management and administration of agreed invasive tests/procedures

  • Support patients, carers and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g. imparting bad news or following an unexpected event

Successful applicants will have :

  • • Minimum of 6 months A&E RN UK (Private or NHS) hospital experience within the last 2 years or Completion of a Return to Practice within the last 2 years
  • • Have valid NMC registration
  • Knowledge and demonstration of the use of evidence based care
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping
  • Be able to work as an independent practitioner
