Bank Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner

Job Description

We are seeking to recruit Perioperative Practitioners, specialising in Anaesthetics and Recovery to join our Bank Staff at Spire Manchester Hospital.  You will form part of a well-established, professional, friendly theatre team providing a high quality of perioperative care for patients undergoing in-patient and day case surgery.

Confidently undertaking anaesthetic/recovery practitioner responsibilities, the successful applicants will provide exemplary planned care for patients and assistance to consultants within the perioperative environment.

The successful candidates will be qualified Theatre Nurses or ODP, with current registration with the NMC or HCPC. At least 2 years’ post basic experience is essential, ideally in a number of specialties. This will enable you to provide planned care for patients requiring operative procedures which could include day case, or in-patient surgery within your area of expertise and experience.

We really value people who are organised and efficient, and who combine this with a genuine empathy for vulnerable and sick patients, which is clearly perceptible. You will have experience of planning work and acting under your own initiative, as well as working within a team and with supervision. You must be flexible in your approach to your tasks and duties, and we will also need you to be willing to be flexible in your working patterns. The successful candidate will possess a collaborative and positive approach to team working in order to fit in well with our culture.

Working hours: Working on an adhoc basis, as and when business needs dictate; for instance covering holidays or sickness absences. Ability to undertake on-call work is essential.
