Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for Bank Care Assistants to join the team at one of our award-winning Care Homes.

Windmill Court in St Minver, near Wadebridge provides nursing, palliative care, day care and respite care. The Home can also accommodate individuals with sensory impairment and physical disabilities. The modern single story building is home to 34 elderly people.

Windmill Court is owned by Maria Mallaband Care Group, one of the UK's most established care providers and is committed to promoting high standards throughout all of its homes and continuously monitors and reviews its quality control procedures and systems.

Applicants with NVQ level 2 or 3 qualifications in Health & Social Care are highly desirable, however if you do not and are seeking a career within elderly care as a Care Assistant, then we can also consider your application as we provide all the training and qualifications you will need for the role, with all the guidance you need to develop your career within the private healthcare sector.

As a Care Assistant your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • To have an understanding of Health & Social Care act 2008
  • Maintain service user privacy and dignity at all times, whilst ensuring they have the right choice

  • Help to ensure that service users lead as full a life as possible

  • Assist with personal care

  • The Ideal Care Assistant will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Have good communication skills

  • Be able to work as a team or by yourself

  • Have some knowledge of caring for the elderly, but not essential as training will be given

  • Maria Mallaband are committed to providing on going training and development for all employees to continually update their skills all members of staff take part in a comprehensive induction programme and attend relevant courses, such as moving and handling, infection control, Fire training and food hygiene.
