The Community Dental Service is looking to recruit qualified and GDC registered Dental Nurses to join our Bank Register to work on an ad-hoc basis to cover holidays, sickness and episodes of reduced staffing.
The successful applicant will have excellent clinical and communication skills and be committed to team working. You will also have some administrative and clerical duties within the department, and will be responsible for ensuring that dental care is provided safely and to a high standard. Dental Nurses have responsibilities for the decontamination process in line with HTM01-05 guidelines.
We provide special care dentistry across three sites, for adults and children in a variety of settings including:
• Community dental clinics; Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Dawley,
• Domiciliary visits ,
• Hospitals (General Anaesthetic),
Community Dental Service also provides;
• Emergency Dental Service; Shrewsbury & Oswestry.
• General practice dentistry across two sites (Market Drayton & Craven Arms)
Community Dental Service offers an out of hours emergency dental service (OOHEDS) within Shropshire and dental nurses take part in evening on-call alongside a dentist on a rotational basis. OOHEDS weekend sessions are currently offered at two sites.
Applicants will be required to meet the travel commitments of the posts.
Applicants should note that where it is deemed that a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required, it will be the applicants responsibility to cover the cost of the check and payment must be made in advance for all bank positions.

Staff who are new to the NHS will normally start on the bottom increment of the payscale advertised.
