We employ over 7,000 staff, many of whom are internationally renowned and have won awards for their work.

The Neonatal Unit at ELHT has 6 intensive care cots, 8 high dependency cots and 20 special care cots with a total cot capacity of 34 cots. In addition there are 2 isolation cots.

The single East Lancashire unit is a level 3 Unit catering for a delivery rate of 6500 per year. It is proposed that 5000 deliveries (medium-high risk) will occur on the hospital site. The remaining 1500 deliveries will be managed in 3 birthing centres, 2 based in the community in Blackburn and Rossendale and a co-located birth centre in Burnley on the hospital site.

We are currently looking to employ neonatal nurses, to supplement our permanent team and help with peaks and troughs we have a team of 'bank staff' nurses who provide cover for planned and unplanned shortfalls in staffing, covering vacancies and staff absences as well as bringing in specific required skills for short periods of time.
Applicants will be required to have an up to date portfolio of NMC/CPD soon to be re-validated with evidence of continuing professional development to be seen at interview.

Joining East Lancs Hospitals NHS Trust Nurse Bank can offer you flexible work to suit your lifestyle and commitments, as well as the opportunity to test the waters in a new setting. Our benefits include access to the NHS Pension scheme, free mandatory paid and unpaid training and the ability to work across a number of hospitals and within the domiciliary setting of the community division.

We require committed, motivated, reliable individuals to expand our pool of trained nurses who provide ad hoc support, health care and information to patients and their families. Whilst covering a shift, you will be responsible for the implementation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
