Vacancy notice for Paediatric Team, May 2016

Up to 30 hours a week hospital wide permanent contract, paediatric bank nurse(s) and bank paediatric recovery nurse(s)

Due to the expansion of our developing paediatric service an exciting opportunity has arisen to recuirit paediatric nurses to both the nurse bank and permanent nursing team.

You will be keen to promote clinical excellence in our paediatric unit. Providing care in a wised range of specialities including urology, ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, plastic surgery orthopaedic and ophthalmology on the wards, recovery and outpatient setting meeting the flexible needs of our children’s service

You will work autonomously, as part of the nursing team within our friendly working environment where there is a commitment to family centred care, supported by our established team of consultants.

We actively encourage professional development and offer a comprehensive in house training programme

You will on occasions be required to work night shifts and weekends and participate in the paediatric telephone nurse on call service

The candidates should be:

  • RSCN or equivalent
  • Have an ability to transfer skills through a variety of clinical areas including pre-assessment, outpatients, recovery and the ward environment
  • Have a willingness to undertake further training.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and mentorship is also desirable.
  • Experience of working in high dependency, intensive care or recovery is essential for nurses applying for the bank recovery nurse role and desirable for other posts.
