Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the care of surgical patients on a busy ward. You will be responsible for caring for children aged 12 months upwards, who have had surgery. If you are also trained to care for adult patients, your role will also involve looking after adult surgical patients.
The wide range of clinical procedures provided by Spire Manchester Hospital means that you will be exposed to a diverse range of nursing specialisms such as: Orthopaedic, Gastroenterology, Cosmetic, Urology, General surgery, and Ear Nose and Throat surgery. Your role will include managing a group of patients, providing clinical skills including communicating with the patient and their family, assessing their immediate and future care needs and aiding their recovery. This might include care of their surgical site, medicine management and fluid balance.
You will work as part of a friendly team and you will be supported by senior nurses who have the knowledge and experience to assist and support you to achieve high standards of nursing care. You will have chance to gain many skills in caring for a wide variety of patient types.
Working hours: This is a bank position, working occasional adhoc shifts in line with business needs. The post entails working on a rotation basis covering both day and night shifts, over 7 days of the week.
