Job Description

The Spinney psychiatric services based in Atherton Greater Manchester is part of the Partnerships in care group a noted leader and provider of Mental Health Care within the independent Health sector.

We are an all-male service, providing Medium and Low secure services for individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness who may or may not also have challenging behaviours our model of care is underpinned by the principles of recovery and my shared pathway.

The philosophy and ethos of the unit is to work collaboratively and in partnership with the patient so as to ensure the best possible outcome and the Average Length of Stay is kept to a minimum.

More recently the Spinney psychiatric services have seen the commissioning of an adult male acute admission service which provides care for 15 patients. Care is delivered in accordance to NICE guidelines and national service framework with the emphasis on best outcome for the patient. The service provides care for individuals with a primary diagnosis of Mental illness and or dual diagnosis. A dedicated Multidisciplinary Team with the support of other allied professionals work in collaboration with the community mental health team’s home treatment teams, community psychiatric nurses and harm reduction teams in order to ensure a seamless transition from admission to discharge. In order to further enhance this particular service there will be a further 10 high dependency beds commissioned in June 2014 this will allow for the service to admit and treat\t males over the age of 18 with an acute mental illness and behaviours that present with significant challenges to services. The unit is a modern purposely adapted ward to support patients during a mental health Crisis providing a safe environment conducive to recovery
