NHS Borders is keen to recruit Registered Nurses and Midwives to the Nurse Bank who have the right skills, experience and attitude to be considered to work flexibly across a variety of settings covered by the Nurse Bank as detailed below.
1. Borders General Hospital - We are particularly keen to recruit to our specialised areas such as Midwifery, Theatres, ITU, ED, SCBU and Paediatrics; also various wards including Medical, Surgical, Medicine for the elderly and Orthopaedics.
2. Community and Community Hospitals - Treatment rooms, Community Nurses; Health Visitors and Out Of Hours Evening Service. The Community Hospitals are situated in Peebles Kelso, Hawick and Duns
3. Mental Health - Acute and Rehabilitation services. Older adult Resource centre's, in Peebles, Hawick, Gala and Kelso. Care Of Older People with dementia within the Borders General Hospital.
If you live in any of the above community areas, and have perhaps not applied before, maybe due to not driving, then you could be considered for a particular locality only.
In addition Student Nurses in 3rd year who will register by June 2015 may apply to work as HCSW's pending registration.
Existing NHS Borders Registered Nurses / Midwives interested in joining the Nurse Bank should liaise with their Line Manager to be fast-tracked.
