Job Description

Except the paragraph concerning to supplement our permanent team and help with peaks and troughs we have a casual bank register including a bank of research nurses. These posts are offered initially at band 5 due to the ad hoc basis of activity. If a longer period of bank work was to be undertaken by an experienced (GCP up to date) research nurse band 6 may be offered. These posts are offered to assist with providing cover for planned and unplanned shortfalls in staffing, covering vacancies and staff absences as well as bringing in specific required skills for short periods.

We require committed, motivated, reliable individuals to expand our pool of trained nurses who provide ad hoc support, health care and information to patients and their families. Whilst covering a shift, you will be responsible for the implementation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Successful applicants will be flexible to work in various locations and settings across East Lancashire as required to meet staffing shortages.
As part of the recruitment process you are required to pay for the administration of DBS check, which will be payable on the assessment / interview at a cost of £48. If you are unsuccessful at interview this will be refunded to you. Please note – you won’t have to pay for the DBS if you are already on the DBS update service.

PLEASE NOTE: The Trust has recently made it a mandatory requirement that anyone working on the staff bank must attend our 2 day corporate induction course. If you apply to work the staff bank you must be able to commit to attending an induction course, which runs on Monday and Tuesday’s, you will be paid for attending this course.
