Job Description

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK's largest independent providers of mental health and social care pathways, providing high value integrated services to a wide range of individuals. We aim to offer personalised care to service users with psychological, emotional and addiction disorders. We have established ourselves as providers of a full care pathway from medium secure services all the way through to supported living in the community.

Cygnet Hospital Godden Green is situated in the beautiful rural setting of the Kent Weald just a ten minute drive from the centre of Sevenoaks and approximately half an hour from Maidstone, Orpington and Tonbridge. The hospital offers a range of psychiatric and therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults on an outpatient, day patient and inpatient basis, as well as CAMHS and Low Secure inpatient services for our NHS customers. The hospital known for its innovation has recently developed a day care school for service users which provides a stepping stone between Tier 3 (Community based services) and Tier 4 (Inpatient services).

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Bank Staff Nurses with experience of care work in a mental health setting, a good awareness of security and health and safety and who can demonstrate a good knowledge base of Cygnet Hospital Godden Green patients' specific needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for Registered Mental Health Nurses who are looking for work on a casual basis, working as and when required, giving you flexibility on how often you work.

You will be required to assist the patients in activities of daily living, facilitate Section 17 leave and carry out regular observations, responsible for providing an excellent standard of care to all patients and enhancing their experience of admission to the hospital.

RMN's looking to join our Bank will need to have completed their preceptorships.

For those who may wish to join our team permanently, the bank system is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talent and passion for quality and excellence and gain valuable work experience. You will work ad hoc shifts as staffing levels demand and although shift patterns are not guaranteed we regularly call upon our bank staff to supplement quality of care for our service users.

Each hospital is committed to the development and well-being of all staff and provides regular supervision, on-going training and access to Cygnet-wide career opportunities. All employees are encouraged to identify their own learning and development needs linking them with the current and future needs of the hospital and each hospital has a generous continuing education budget together with flexible rotas to permit attendance at day release training schemes.

We also pay you for your training, you will receive gross payments of £250 for completing your PMVA training and a further £250 for your online training once you have completed 5 shifts.
