Job Description

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK's largest independent providers of mental health and social care pathways, providing high value integrated services to a wide range of individuals. We aim to offer personalised care to service users with psychological, emotional and addiction disorders. We have established ourselves as providers of a full care pathway from medium secure services all the way through to supported living in the community.

Cygnet Hospital Stevenage is located just off J8 of the A1M, on the northern outskirts of Stevenage in Hertfordshire the hospital is easily reached from Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. Stevenage itself also has a regular train service connecting it to Kings Cross in London. The hospital is purpose built with 88 beds split into six wards that provide two separate care pathways for men and women from medium secure through low secure to locked services.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Bank RMN Staff Nurses with experience in a mental health setting and who have completed preceptorships with their current employer. RMN Staff Nurses will also need a good awareness of security and health and safety and who can demonstrate a good knowledge base of Cygnet Hospital Stevenage's patients' specific needs.

RMN's looking to join our Bank will need to have completed their preceptorships.

You will be required to assist the patients in activities of daily living, facilitate Section 17 leave and carry out regular observations, responsible for providing an excellent standard of care to all patients and enhancing their experience of admission to the hospital.

For those who may wish to join our team permanently, the bank system is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talent and passion for quality and excellence and gain valuable work experience. You will work ad hoc shifts as staffing levels demand and although shift patterns are not guaranteed we regularly call upon our bank staff to supplement quality of care for our service users.

We also pay you for your training, you will receive gross payments of £250 for completing your PMVA training and a further £250 for your online training once you have completed 5 shifts.
