Job Description

Cardiac Nurse – Salary up to £29,000 depending on previous experience

Full Time – 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri)                               Based at Queens Hospital, Burton upon Trent.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an established registered nurse to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in supporting the Angiography Service Manager at Queens Hospital, Burton upon Trent in the delivery of a high quality Angiography service. You will enjoy working in a dynamic environment and be a team player. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are essential.

Candidates will have a minimum of two years clinical experience of working in an acute setting and demonstrate competence in IV cannulation insertion and IV drug administration. Previous cardiac experience is desirable but training and support will be provided.

InHealth is looking for a highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn new skills and possess an ability to work under pressure. The successful individual will receive on-going support from the Senior Cardiac Nurse and Angiography Service Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Basic appreciation of patient care and confidentiality 
  • Experience of working in an acute clinical environment (CCU/HDU/ITU or A/E)
  • Basic life support training


  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team



  • Infection Control training, Manual Handling and Patient Transfer training, Health and Safety Awareness training, Evidence of professional development since qualifying.

Registered Nurse level 1 or Equivalent (Adaptation course

  • Flexibility to work the shifts required 
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Effective inter-personal skills
  • Will be required to wear lead protection at all times in the Catheter lab
  • When competent will need to be involved with the On Call rota
  • Long days as part of the rota will be required each week
