Contracted Weekly Hours : 16 to 44hrs available

Preston Glades is in the Ribbleton area of Preston, Lancashire. Here we have a dedicated team of registered general nurses and mental health nurses, who are supported by dedicated care assistants and ancillary staff. We provide person-centred care to meet each individual's needs, and offer specialist dementia support, end of life care, general nursing carer as well as respite care. Our home is ideally located close to bus stops. We have large secure gardens where people living here can enjoy the fresh air and entertain visitors. Preston Glades' dementia unit has themed corridors to help people find their bearings, and is rich in memorabilia.

As a Care Assistant you will show warmth and support to our residents and their families; helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

So as a Care Assistant what do you need to do to make this happen?

  • Communicate professionally and warmly with all visitors to the home including family and friends

  • Act as a key worker to a number of residents, providing friendship and supporting their needs.

  • Take part in social activities both within and externally to the home

  • When required, accompany residents to appointments outside the home

  • Assist residents with personal hygiene needs

  • Work as part of a team

  • Attend training as required
