We are advertising four posts on our newly designed physician-specific CESR rotation programme based at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT). The posts are intended to provide the clinician with the support and Emergency Medicine training required to successfully complete all aspects of the CESR process including completion of FRCEM. It will be possible to provide specific three month secondment-style modules to address relevant educational and competency needs. Secondments include Anaesthesia, ITU, Acute Medicine and Acute Paediatrics.

Our department has a reputation for its training and support with recent success for non- training grade doctors in FRCEM. The Consultant body has a current CEM examiner, a consultant with dual CCT accreditation in Emergency Medicine and Paediatric Emergency Medicine as well as the Training Programme Director for Higher Specialist Training in Emergency Medicine within the region. There will be a specifically-designed training package for all successful applicants, including the opportunity to attend the very highly regarded Mersey regional Specialist Training education programme on a weekly basis. There will be a designated Consultant supervisor for the duration of the rotation in Emergency Medicine in addition to specialty specific consultant supervisors during secondment periods.

From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the 24 hour Emergency Department rota. However during secondment time in the relevant specialties rota commitments will be entirely based in that particular clinical specialty.

The rotation is initially offered on a fixed term contract for four years with formal reviews at six months, 12 months and annually thereafter.

The post holder must be registered with GMC and hold a licence to practice. The successful candidates will join a team of twelve middle grade doctors based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. .
