Charge Nurse - General Surgery
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Charge Nurse within the Colorectal/ Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Ward in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This ward is a busy 28 bedded area, providing comprehensive in-patient services for patients undergoing varied types of colorectal surgery, interventions and treatments. You will deputise/support the Senior Charge Nurse in contributing to the management of the ward/department budget by ensuring effective use of physical, human and financial resources e.g. the nursing resource and supplies including pharmaceutical supplies and equipment. You will be responsible for data collection and analysis for the national ERAS programme and provide ongoing education and support to staff and patients involved in this programme. You will be expected to attend local and national meetings in relation to the National Enhanced Recovery Colorectal Initiative (NERCI) database. You should have NMC Registration as well as evidence of continued professional development, and experience of ERAS. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
