Charge Nurse - RMN - Locked male rehabilitation and recovery hospital - Solihull, West Midlands - £35,000 per annum

Contract: 37.5 hours per week

I am currently recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), experienced in a low or medium secure setting to join this small locked rehabilitation and recovery hospital in Solihull, West Midlands as Charge Nurse. The small service is part of one of the UK's most familiar mental health care providers and support individuals through the provision of care from acute to recovery.

My client is a small, purpose built, all male mental health service which delivers excellent mental health care to individuals who require a period of stability before starting their reintegration into the community. The hospital enables patients to develop positive independent skills and self-management ahead of their discharge into the community. Split across 3 wards the experienced team provide outstanding care on the Admission & Assessment Ward and the two community facing Rehabilitation Wards. The needs of patients include a range of mental illness and personality disorder.

You will have a sound knowledge of both theoretical and clinical aspects of nursing including developments within your profession. As Charge Nurse (RMN) you will be providing clinical leadership to all members of the healthcare team. The service aims to provide support to each of their patients in order to enable them to fulfill their goals and take positive steps towards recovery. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will provide intensive therapy to residents which encouraging them to maintain their independence. The service is considered one of the most highly regarded services in the area and they are looking for an accomplished and passionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join their team as Charge Nurse.

As a Charge Nurse (RMN) you will be responsible for:

•To identify the care needs of patients while planning and implementing nursing intervention
•To communicate information accurately on patient care to the relevant parties while adhering to the principles of information governance
•To administer drugs and checking/preparations in accordance with NMC guidelines
•To assist in the induction and development of new and junior staff members

As a Charge Nurse (RMN) you will have:

•Experience in secure or locked rehab setting
•A Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification
•Current and valid registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK
•An enhanced DBS
•Experience of mental health services
•Acute experience (desirable)
•Knowledge of the revised Mental Health Act (1983)
