An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef to join our team on a 37.5 hours per week contract. This role will be based at Murrayfield Hospital but occassional work at Shawfair Park Hospital will be required to cover for annual leave.

Duties would include but are not limited to;
•Preparation, cooking and service of food to patients, staff and consultants in accordance with Spire Healthcare standards
•Ensuring standards of hygiene are maintained in accordance with cleaning schedules and corporate policy
•Correct and economical use of materials and equipment in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations
•Ensuring any faulty or defective equipment is reported to the Maintenance Department
•Working with Catering Team to ensure compliance within defined targets and key performance indicators, controlling food costs through effective monitoring
•Contribute to menu planning and development
•Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety at Work regulations including COSHH
•Ensuring minimisation of wastage using the tools available.
•Working with the Head Chef to ensure temperature controls are maintained in accordance with HACCP regulations
•Take responsibility for own personal professional development, undertaking any associated training required to effectively perform the duties of the role
•Carry out any reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen
The Chef will be directly involved with patients. At all times she/he must be neat and tidy and wear uniform as per uniform policy.
Standards of personal hygiene must be of the highest calibre at all times.
His/her work will involve close liaison with nursing staff and he/she will be complimentary to their team.
Any other duties that may be required from time to time and as instructed by the Head Chef.
