Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chemotherapy Staff Nurse at The Montefiore Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record in improving and maintaining exceptional patient care and customer service in an oncological setting.

We have a beautiful 9 chaired outpatient chemotherapy unit that has been designed with our user group for Out Patient chemotherapy to include both haematology and solid tumours, delivering both NHS and private chemotherapy.
The successful candidate will form part of our expanding team, and will be expected to provide and maintain a high quality service, working within Spire Cancer Standards. We can offer support from a strong management team, the opportunity to work alongside expert clinicians, access to professional and personal development and experience within a dynamic working environment

Who we are looking for

Qualifications & Training:
Registered Nurse minimum of 2 years post registration
Recognisable qualification in Chemotherapy administration desirable.
Oncology qualification post registration.

Excellent communication skills
Flexible working to support oncology clinics and patients
Willingness to develop role of generic clinical nurse specialist and undertake relevant training
Working as a practitioner in and across multi-disciplinary teams
Applying the knowledge and skills gained through a post registration qualification in Oncology Nursing
Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
Challenging consultants to influence evidence based practice
Share evidence based practices with colleagues to enhance service and standards
Experience of independent sector
Support the commercial development of the specialism locally
Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solution for new services

Knowledge and Technical Ability:
Competence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge
Competent in the safe administration of chemotherapy
Possess the mandatory training requirements for role including infection control and health and safety competencies.
Possess Equipment and Medical Devices Competences
Continuing professional development.
Demonstrate principles of accountable practice
Teaching skills
Keeps abreast of developments in own specialism
English language to IELTS 7.0
Professional assessment skills
