An exciting training opportunity has become available in our Chemotherapy Unit. We are looking for an experienced nurse to join our Chemotherapy Unit Team. There will need to be a willingness to undertake a recognised chemotherapy course; full support will be given to achieve this.
Our team of nurses are part of the cancer and palliative care team who provide excellent patient experience which is reflected in the National Cancer Patient Survey published this year.
To provide a high standard of care to patients who attend the chemotherapy unit for treatment and other supportive therapies.
To work with the multi-disciplinary teams, Oncology Consultants, and site specific Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide a seamless service for patients with cancer, their relatives and carers.
To ensure that cytotoxic drugs, blood transfusions and other treatments are administered in a safe manner in a nurse-led setting. It is expected that the post holder will be responsible for their own decisions regarding care, with the support of senior nurses.
You will need to be able to demonstrate key skills as an experienced nurse. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, supportive care experience and the ability to work autonomously, whist ensuring patients and their family’s needs are met.
Effective communication and organisational skills, you should also be educated to degree level or working towards this. You need to be able to show evidence of your ability to work in a stressful environment.
