GREATER CONTROL, BRIGHTER FUTURE, LOCAL INFLUENCE
The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire). We have over 70 locations and 800 vehicles, a range of specialist medical devices and 3100 staff supported by 1800 volunteers. An opportunity has arisen for Clinical Advisors in our Clinical Assessment Team (CAT) at Horizon Place, Nottingham.
The Trust has committed a significant recurring investment in the CAT to increase the number of permanent staff working within the team. We are looking for motivated clinicians who will help us excel in our service to patients and support our operational performance, while improving patient care. You will triage 999 calls through clinical evaluation of patient needs to ensure that the most appropriate care pathway is delivered.
Delivering clinical involvement at an earlier stage in the patient process provides a more focused activity for the Ambulance Service. As part of ongoing CPD and clinical skills retention you will also be required to care for and administer treatment to patients in an emergency or routine situation to your registered skill level. This is an exciting new dynamic to the current role and will assure prospective candidates of the Trust’s commitment to maintaining your clinical registration and patient facing opportunities as part of a hybrid development of this team.
As a Paramedic/ECP/Nurse you will bring an appropriate level of post registration experience in acute and critical care environments, with demonstration of post registration development. You should ideally have telephone triage experience, an empathetic and assertive telephone manner and the ability to work accurately, at speed and under pressure. You should be open to further education, including higher level qualifications. For further information on qualification and experience, please consult the Job Description.
