PETERBOROUGH AND STAMFORD HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST CLINICAL FELLOW (ST3+) COMMENCING ASAP REFERENCE 176-MP12-15a Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Level) post in Emergency Medicine at Peterborough City Hospital commencing as soon as possible initially for 12 months with a possible extension. Peterborough City Hospital is a new state of the art building, which opened in December 2010 and hosted our College of Emergency Medicine, MCEM Part C, exam in April 2013. It offers excellent working relationships within the department and with pre-hospital and in-hospital teams, and a friendly atmosphere. We run our own in house ALS, EPLS, ATLS, NLS, MSK CT3 training days, HMIMMS and excel in teaching and training of our junior doctors. The appointee will become part of a friendly, busy, forward thinking department as well as part of a team, which currently offers multiple interests including Research, Trauma, Organ donation, Stroke, Pre hospital care, Education, and Toxicology. The Emergency Department has a large (8 bay) resuscitation room, a 24-bedded major’s area, separate paediatric waiting and clinical areas, and a well-equipped minor area. The department acts as a single point of access for emergencies for all specialties, and treats approximately 90,000 patients per year (2012).It is a designated Trauma unit within the East of England Trauma Network with close links to the regional Major Trauma Centre. The department medical staff consists of eight consultants and has eight (ST4 and above) registrars, nine junior MG (CT3 level) and one of whom is always on secondment) and 12 (Combination of FY2, CT1/2 and GPVTS). We welcome and support applicants who are looking to fulfil College of Emergency Medicine curriculum competencies / experience before embarking on Specialist Training career.
