Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow post in anaesthesia and Intensive care starting as soon as possible. A second post is available to cover maternity leave until August 2017. This is a substantive 12 month post, extendable on mutual agreement and subject to satisfactory internal review, which is open to all anaesthetic CT2 and ST3 level or above trainees with a wish to further develop their interests in anaesthesia and critical care..

The fellow would be expected to join the 15 KSS trainees and 7 clinical fellows and speciality doctors in providing clinical care over 2 sites at East Surrey Hospital and Day surgery unit at Crawley hospital. There will also be an opportunity to develop skills in regional, Obstetric and paediatric ENT and dental anaesthesia. There will be a 1 in 8 on call commitment with internal cover either to theatres, ICU or obstetrics (EWTD compliant shift system).

The aim of the fellowship is to enable the fellow to:

  • Develop further skills in anaesthesia and intensive care
  • Develop skills in regional, Obstetric and Paediatric anaesthesia.
  • Work as part of a close knit team.
  • Active involvement in departmental Clinical Governance monthly meetings
  • Active involvement in in house teaching – Friday half day
