Job Description

Clinical Nurse Manager
Otterburn, Kings Heath  - Birmingham
£32,000 salary

Otterburn is a purpose built care home which provides care for people aged between 18 and 65 who have a wide range of conditions including severe disabilities, Huntington’s disease and acquired brain injuries.

This is a supernumerary role, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday,  predominantly 9 – 5 although an expectation in covering nursing shifts is a requirement as needed, this can include day/night duty, week day or over a weekend.

This is a great opportunity to combine your nursing abilities with your management skills, as you will be involved in delivering hands-on nursing care to young adults with neuro-psychiatric conditions.

It's a varied role that includes:

  • Maintaining clinical standards, auditing care plans and medication documentation
  • Supporting with recruitment, staff training and development
  • Managing staffing levels
  • Conducting supervisions and appraisals
  • Delivering hands on nursing and personal care
  • Carrying out pre-admission assessments
  • Supporting the nursing and care teams
  • Liaising with MDT

You should be a first level nurse with previous supervisory experience, perhaps ready to take the next step into management. Your clinical skills should be second-to-none and you should be able to demonstrate your passion for providing high quality care.

You should be able to motivate your team, as well as yourself, and be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for the job with your outgoing personality. There will be times when you will need to make difficult decisions, so your ability to influence others will be a great asset.

In return, we offer:

  • A competitive package
  • Private health care
  • Life Assurance
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • A management development programme

We also provide a comprehensive induction and genuine prospects for progression and promotion, should that be your chosen career path - some of our employees began their career with Exemplar as a nurse and have developed into Home Managers and Operations Managers. If you have the drive and ambition to progress, we can help you to achieve your goals.

Company Overview

Exemplar started life as a training company, helping a care home operator get to grips with an ever-increasing regulatory burden. We helped co-ordinate nursing adaptation courses for overseas nurses too.

Having all this knowledge at our fingertips, we quickly moved into care home operation, taking over 5 elderly care homes in need of some tlc. We still have these homes and they form the bedrock on which the rest has been built.
