An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced ophthalmic nurses to develop the skills required to administer intra-ocular injections and support the work of the Macular Treatment Centre at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
Central Manchester University Hospital Foundation Trust (CMFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England. We provide an extensive range of district general hospital services to the local population of central Manchester and tertiary and specialist services to patients from across the North West and beyond.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on a sessional basis and be expected to demonstrate in depth knowledge and clinical expertise. You will also be expected to demonstrate a sound understanding of the issues relating to the identification, assessment, treatment and management of this specialist client group.
You should have highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals. You should also be able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels, have excellent organisational skills and the ability to use their own initiative. The Ophthalmic qualification is essential for this role.
In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
