An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical immunology and Allergy Unit to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist- Team Leader. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to lead our team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a friendly, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, working within this specialty. The post will be based in the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Unit at the Northern General Hospital. This dedicated unit hosts both outpatient services and day case treatments. The successful candidate will provide support leadership to the nursing team to support allergy and immunology care. This will include managing the department, supporting the multidisciplinary team and providing a nurse led service for the diagnosis, treatment inclusive of prescribing for patients with allergies. The post holder will also work alongside the Consultant Immunologists and Home Therapy Clinical Nurse Specialist in providing care for patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency, including immunoglobulin replacement therapy.. Experience in phlebotomy, cannulation and IV drug administration are essential, a non-medical prescriber is preferred, but willingness to complete APACS and NMP modules at Hallam university will be accepted.
Some experience of allergy/immunodeficiency is essential and further training will be given. The post holder will be expected to develop their knowledge and skills base by attending specialty related courses and events.
Registered nurse with valid NMC
Recent relevant experience at band 6 sister
Evidence of personal and professional development
Ability to work flexibly in order to maintain the service.
