Following the recruitment of the previous post-holder to another post in Croydon’s learning disability services, Croydon Council is seeking to appoint a Clinical Psychologist / experienced Behavioural Support Specialist to lead the further development of our Transitions Behaviour Support Team.
The focus of the role will be to assess, formulate and intervene, using a Positive Behaviour Support Framework, to improve the quality of life of young people (mainly in the 14-18 age group) with learning disabilities who engage in behaviour that challenges as they transition to adult services. You will supervise a Behavioural Support Facilitator / Assistant Psychologist and work closely with family carers and the team around the young person. You will also work in partnership with a complex network of other professionals, including the Psychology and Behaviour Support Services of the Adult Community Learning Disability Team, to achieve results.
You will be a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist or hold another relevant health or social care qualification and have a demonstrable specialism in challenging behaviour.
The post will be part of the 0-25 SEND service at Bernard Weatherill House .
