Job Description


The UHB is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative and highly creative team of multi professional practitioners delivering psychotherapeutic interventions.

You will become a member of the Primary Mental Health Support Service (PMHSS) who deliver psychotherapeutic and mental health services to people of Cardiff and Vale who have mild to moderate and stable, severe and enduring mental health difficulties, under part 1 of the Mental Health Measure.

You will primarily deliver low intensity psycho-educational programmes to people with eating disorders or people who have experienced trauma as well as delivering low level group based psycho- educational programmes for example, for stress , anxiety, low mood or people with mild cognitive difficulties as appropriate and as decided by the needs of the service and your manager. Whilst based within PMHSS you will in-reach into other services, for example the eating disorder service, trauma service, memory service, Mental Health Services for Older People and Adult Mental Health Service as appropriate. There will be opportunities for audit and service evaluation.

You will be part of a supportive and developing service. Appropriate supervision and continued professional development will be available.

The ability to speak Welsh desirable for this post.
