An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 Clinical Specialist (OT) to join the Camden Early Intervention Service.
Camden & Islington EIS has been operational since 2003 and is one of the largest teams in the trust. The service aims to engage and treat service users experiencing a first episode of psychosis. A comprehensive assessment period is completed before offering up to 3 years treatment for appropriate clients. The team promotes a full symptomatic and social recovery, with an emphasis on assisting service users into valued education and occupation. The team has a strong research ethic.
Although the successful post holder will act as care co-ordinator for a defined group of clients, the service utilises a team approach and has a flexible multidisciplinary team structure. This post ideally suits a Band 6 OT with experience of supporting individuals (and their families) with psychotic illness in a community setting. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to develop their leadership skills, supervise junior staff and will deputise for the Team Manager at times. Other development activities include peer support, regular supervision and participation in the EIS training programme.
