With a budget of around £270m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

An exciting volunteering opportunity has arisen with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust understands the value of volunteering and encourages volunteer involvement. We see the important role this work plays not just in enhancing our services and the experience of service users and their families and carers, but also in empowering and enhancing the life of the volunteer.

We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for patients and families.

The role will involve a range of activities with patients including

  • Engaging with patients who are in need of company.
  • Reading to patients if requested.
  • Walk with patients who are wandersome.
  • Playing games with patients.
  • Talking and listening to patients.
  • Providing support for patients who may need to attend other departments across the Trust.
