Community Psychiatric Nurse
Bolton Community Mental Health Services are a committed integrated service that strives to provide quality recovery based support to people with severe and enduring mental health related difficulties in Bolton 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
There are two Functional CMHT’s in Bolton that provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary service to people aged 16 years and above including an assertive outreach approach.
We are looking to recruit a Band 5 nurse to the South Functional CMHT.
We are looking for individuals who are flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change.
You should also be able to work effectively taking a holistic approach to assessment and treatment working in partnership with service users and their carer’s promoting independence and recovery of people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. You will need to be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, respecting the input of all the professions and professionals within this.
As a Community Psychiatric Nurse working in the Functional CMHT you will assess service users using identified assessment and risk assessment and undertake the role of Care Coordinator in line with CPA process, and will be expected to work proactively and flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team model. You will also have a key role in the organisation and delivery of depot injection and Clozapine clinics.

Important Information about working for GMW:
This appointment will be subject to a satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period for new starters to the Trust. You will receive all necessary training and support during this period. Further details are contained within the Trust’s Performance Improvement Policy.
All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. This position is also subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. If successful in your application the Trust will pay the initial cost of the DBS, currently £4769 and this will be reclaimed from your first salary payment (if in Band 3 or above) upon commencement, or your first two salary payments (if in Bands 1 or 2) upon commencement.
If you are appointed to the post, you will be required to provide evidence of a satisfactory DBS check on a 3 yearly basis.
To achieve this, the Trust recommends that you sign up for the DBS update service (£13 annual subscription fee currently) which is an automated process. You may choose to have a DBS carried out by the Trust of a three yearly basis instead, however, you will be required to pay for the cost of this check at the time (currently £4769)
