Community Nurse Band 5

Job Description

Bristol Community Health Community Interest Company (CIC) is a not-for-profit social enterprise organisation providing high quality community healthcare services across the city and neighbouring areas.

Our Values help us to deliver our core mission - Person Centred Patient Care. We know that we work better together, so naturally we strive to deliver excellence through collaborative and innovative working across the organisation. As an employee you will be invited to become a shareholder in the company and have a say in shaping our future direction.

We currently follow the 2016/17 Agenda for Change national pay scales and pay a Living Wage. We recognise NHS continuous service for annual leave entitlement and offer access to the NHS pension scheme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to join the integrated nursing team based within Southmead Health Centre.

This role will involve delivering excellent evidence based nursing care to housebound patients within the local area, working autonomously, whilst working collaboratively with District Nurses, Community Matrons, Community Nurses and Health Care Assistants.

You will need excellent communication skills and have experience of working within a team; previous community experience is desirable but not essential. You will also be required to use electronic systems, have good time management and be able to prioritise your work load.

For further information or an informal chat, please contact Sally Kinkead on  ( Phone number removed )

Bristol Community Health (BCH) provides a range of community services 365 days a year, over a 24 hour period. This may result in staff being required to work a variety of shift patterns.

Current BCH employees who are successful in their application for this post will transfer automatically to the Total Reward Terms and Conditions upon appointment if they have not already done so. This will not apply to new and current posts which fall under the Children's Community Healthcare Partnership (CCHP) for the 12 month interim period from 1st April 2016. During this time BCH are delivering these services in partnership with Sirona health and care CIC and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust. Standard NHS Terms and Conditions including Agenda for Change pay scales will apply to all current and new CCHP employees.

If the post is fixed term, current BCH employees who are successful will be offered the role on a secondment basis. The secondment will have to be supported by their current line manager and internal applicants should refer to the Secondment Policy on the staff website for further details.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be contacted through NHS Jobs via the email address supplied on your application form. Therefore please check both your NHS Jobs and email accounts regularly for messages. If you apply for this vacancy and have not received a communication within four weeks of the closing date, please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful. This vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are deemed to have been received.

In accordance with policy, internal BCH staff in a redeployment situation will be given prior consideration for any suitable vacancies advertised.

BCH do not pay any travel expenses for attending interviews.
