The Kent and Medway Eating Disorders Service provides community eating disorders treatment to people suffering from eating disorders from across this large, diverse and beautiful county. This innovate service treats adults with complex eating disorders, and younger people (aged 14 upwards) with recent onset eating difficulties.
The service is set to expand, having attracted transformation funding from our CCGs, as announced in the 2014 budget, to improve access and waiting times for children and young people who access our Primary Care Service. Joining our existing and experienced team these new roles will enhance service provision to younger people and their families, and the post holders will be provided with excellent opportunities for developing skills in working with patients and families with eating disorders across the life span, while also sharing expertise with others in the team.
We are currently looking for a Community Nurse and have two permanent posts which is full-time and one 15 hours per week
We would like to attract mental health nurses with experience of working with people with eating disorders to the team, or those with additional training in CBT or SSCM. These posts involve holding a caseload of patients with eating disorders and delivering home-based treatment and outreach according to service need. The outreach service is a recent addition to the team and provides assessment and support to patients and their families both in the home and within their communities.
This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
