Job Description

Wiltshire Health and Care is formed from a partnership of the three NHS Foundation Trusts who serve Wiltshire, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. From 1st July 2016 Wiltshire Health and Care will provide adult community health services in Wiltshire. As part of the team you will help deliver services to the Wiltshire Health and Care contract, however your employment will be with one of our partner organisation, Great Western Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust.

Would you like to be part of preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital and in assisting people to manage their wellbeing in their own homes? Our organisation is proactive in developing community specific training and can offer a supportive and friendly environment in which to learn new skills.

We currently require a Band 5 Nurse to work in the Devizes Integrated Community Team. Our community nurses are expected to work in patients’ homes, in community clinical settings and to link closely with the GP Practices in the Devizes areas. The team is based at Devizes Hospital and operates a shift pattern from 0700 – 2200. Nursing staff will be expected to work weekend rotas and will be expected to cover early and late shifts.

Experience in front line NHS patient care is essential as is evidence of up to date clinical professional development. Applicants need to have excellent clinical skills, well developed communication skills and be able to work under pressure. The role is demanding but rewarding, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking individuals who can work flexibly and efficiently. Newly qualified staff nurses benefit from a perceptorship programme, community based training programmes and the expertise and supervision of our highly knowledgeable and experienced senior practitioners.

All new starters with Wiltshire Health & Care will be subject to a six month probationary period. The probationary period works alongside the induction process to help create a positive and supportive working environment that allows new staff to learn the key elements of the role within a reasonable and realistic timescale.
