Job Description

Role: Complex Care Assistant working with  Adults & Children in Walton on Thames

Location – Walton on Thames

Pay – up to £14.46 (inc holiday pay)

Shift – All shifts available. Days/Night/Weekends/Live in.

Full Training Provided

As a Care Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to children and adults living in their own homes. Our clients have a range of complex healthcare requirements, so it is essential that you have gained previous experience working within this field, you will also need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to manage your own time effectively.

Although full training is provided, we are currently looking for people who have experience in the following areas:

  • Post operative continuing care
  • Cardio-vascular and respiratory conditions
  • Brain Injuries
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Adults and children with profound, multiple learning difficulties
  • Degenerative medical conditions (such as Motor Neurone Disease).

About the Complex Care Job Role:

You will form an integral part of the Newcross Care at Home team in this varied and rewarding role, delivering person-centred care in accordance with personalised care plans that enrich lives.

 Within your role you will be responsible for assisting with key health provision functions, including administering medication, pain relief and various domestic and healthcare tasks to assist the service users with day to day living. Our person centred service is designed to enable the service users to interact with their families and also the local community, enabling them to maximise their independence and live fulfilling lives.

You will have access to comprehensive training and 24 hour support, and in order to ensure that you always have enough work you will be employed on a permanent, flexible contract with guaranteed hours.

Person specification:

  • The ability to prove your right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a complex care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care
  • Medication administration certificate highly preferable
  • Experience of clients with dementia highly preferable.
