Due to an exciting period of growth we now have job vacancies in the Wareham area of Bournemouth for several Support Workers. We are looking for professional, dedicated and enthusiastic Support Workers who can offer commitment to deliver high quality care to our clients with learning disabilities and Complex Care needs.

We have a range of shifts available including days, nights and weekends, with the options to work on a full or part time basis and in a shift pattern that suits you.

As a Support Worker/ Personal Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to clients their own homes, living with a range of complex healthcare needs. It is essential that you have worked in a similar job previously and are able to work well under pressure.

Our ideal candidate will have gained experience through working with any of the following or be willing to receive training in the following areas:-

  • PEG
  • Brain Injury
  • Spinal Injury
  • Learning Disability
  • Degenerative Medical Conditions (Such as Motor Neurone Disease)

Within your role you will be responsible for assisting with key health provision functions, including administering medication, pain relief and various domestic and healthcare tasks to assist the service users with day to day living.

You will form an integral part of the Newcross Complex Care team in this varied and rewarding role, delivering person-centred care in accordance with personalised care plans that enrich lives. You will have access to comprehensive training and 24 hour support, and in order to ensure that you always have enough work you will be employed on a permanent, flexible contract with guaranteed hours.

Due to the nature of this role, access to your own transport is essential.

In order to be considered for this Support Worker role you will need:

  • The ability to prove your right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a complex care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care
  • Medication administration certificate highly preferable
  • Experience of clients with dementia highly preferable.
