University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB), based on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, invites applications for a full time Consultant Microbiologist.
This is a replacement post due to retirement of consultant microbiologist. The post is available full time, 10PA's, but part time working can be negotiated.
You would become a member of a team of 4 consultant microbiologists providing services for Morecambe Bay Hospitals and surrounding general practices. The department is warm, friendly, open and supportive and has a professional and friendly working relationship with clinicians through regular ward rounds and MDTs. Consultants rotate between sites and provides a wide range of services including infection control, training and education. The 24/7 on call duty is shared between 4 consultants.

It provides a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay.

We work in partnership with Lancaster Medical School, North Western Deanery and Health Education North West to provide quality education and training which meets the requirements of these regulatory bodies as well as the Trust’s high standards of patient care. UHMBT provides one of the main NHS settings for students from Lancaster Medical School as we co-ordinate, deliver and quality assure the clinical component of Lancaster Medical Schools MBChB degree program.

You must have full GMC registration, completed Specialist Training and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT date within six months of the date of interview.
