Job Description

Named as one of the 100 best places to work in the NHS by the Health Service Journal in 2015, Southern Health is one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health, adult and child community health, learning disabilities and social care services.

We are seeking to appoint two Community Consultant Psychiatrists in Older People’s Mental Health in North Hampshire, following the previous post holders moving posts and the recent reconfiguration of the Service within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post holders will be working with enthusiastic and committed colleagues to deliver high quality care across the spectrum of Older People’s Mental Health issues. The vacant positions comprise: one full-time post serving the central west and rural east areas of Basingstoke (Job Ref: 348-0916-SE-MED105) and one full-time post serving the central east and rural west areas of Basingstoke (Job Ref: TBC-348-0916-SE-MED104); with both posts being based centrally at Parklands Hospital, in Basingstoke itself.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust was established in 2011 with the merger of Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Community Health Care Trust. It employs around 9,000 staff and provides specialist mental health services, learning disability services, social care and community health care services within both specialised and geographically-based Integrated Service Divisions. The Foundation Trust primarily covers all of Hampshire, excluding Portsmouth City and a small area of North East Hampshire.
